Take a look at this from this blog posting from the US Secretary of Transportation. It is really nice to see and hear that transportation officials are finially beginning to get how transportation is inherently multi-modal and that we can no longer ignore, at best, bicyclists and pedestrians that use the public roadways for their mobility needs.
